the best firefox extensions

essential firefox extensions.

I almost don't remember a time when I used IE or Netscape as a primary browser. Firefox really is that good. I honestly feel that Microsoft should just give up the browser fight. Firefox is the next Google, and I don't say that with any political sentiment- it's just a superior browser.

The best thing about Firefox are the extensions - functional add-ons that make it so much better.

So, here's a list of the best Firefox extensions I know of. By no means is this list in any particular order, nor is it an exhaustive or comprehensive list. These are just some really cool extensions that have become essential to my everyday web browsing. Enjoy.

Extension

What it does

Adblock Allows you to block almost every ad on the Net, including banners and flash ads.
Customize Google Takes the annoyances out of Google. Removes the right-side search ads, gives you the option to get search results from other search engines from the Google search results, makes your google UID cookie anonymous, and more.
NoScript Blocks java, javascript, and other scripts on pages unless you specifically allow it.
PDF Download Helps prevent those nasty PDF browser seizures. When you click on a link to a PDF, you get the option to view in browser, save it, or view it as HTML.
AntiPagination Say you do a search on Google that returns 100 results. This extension allows you to view all 100 results on one browser page, rather than in sets of 10. Works for most any search tool.
SyncMarks Syncs your FireFox favorites with your IE bookmarks.
DictionarySearch Highlight and lookup any word on a web page.
ForecastFox Puts a local weather report in the bottom right section of your browser.
CookieCuller A cookie manager that allows you to protect cookies you want to keep and easily delete the ones you don't.
IE View Allows you to quickly view any page in IE.
TabBrowser Preferences Adds a control section for your tab browsing preferences.
